With an extensive global network and the aspiration to transform society, NTU Singapore works with partners from near and far to blend fundamental and applied research in ways that enhance community and economic impacts.

Home to a diverse talent pool, NTU is a magnet for public-private partnerships. Its thematic institutes and corporate laboratories house state-of-the-art infrastructure set up with local and international industry leaders. The NTU Smart Campus serves as a living test bed for more than 50 companies developing technologies for Singapore’s Smart Nation initiative.

Our researchers and students address grand challenges with academic, government, commercial and non-profit sectors to solve societal issues sustainably and ethically. Cutting across traditional sectorial boundaries, these efforts target national priorities ranging from urbanisation to ageing and healthcare, privacy and security, education and life-long learning, and risks arising from climate change and natural hazards.

I welcome you to explore these webpages to learn more about our research culture and capabilities, as well as the ideas and motivations of the people behind them. NTU’s scientific and technological successes are recognised around the world even as they answer the most urgent and consequential questions of the day.

For all their diversity, NTU researchers share a common ambition to deliver technologies and solutions to shape a better future for all.

Prof Lam Khin Yong
Vice President (Research)
